Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer may grow slowly or aggressively and is often detected through PSA screening.

Signs and Symptoms

  • Often asymptomatic in early stages

  • Later: urinary frequency, hesitancy, blood in urine or semen, bone pain (if metastasized)

Risk Factors

  • Age >50

  • African American race

  • Family history of prostate cancer

  • High-fat diet

Treatment Options

  • Active surveillance

  • Surgery (prostatectomy)

  • Radiation therapy

  • Hormonal therapy or chemotherapy (advanced cases)

  • Cryotherapy

  • High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
